Model cash timing instead of invoice revenue
Record when cash is expected to arrive or leave. An issued invoice does not establish the collection date, and a cash receipt does not by itself define accounting revenue.
- Opening cash
- Dated expected invoice receipts
- Dated expected payments
- Confirmed bank transactions
- Running and lowest projected cash
Keep the forecast separate from reconciliation
Update assumptions as dates or amounts change, then reconcile confirmed transactions to the bank separately. Review taxes, financing, payroll timing and other obligations that may not appear in the example.
Filled fictional cash schedule
The workbook opens with expected invoice receipts, expected payments and one confirmed bank fee. These are fictional planning entries, not revenue recognition or a completed bank reconciliation.
