Review sales and payments without mixing the events

Use general sales, customer, item and payment reports to examine invoiced activity, recorded receipts and outstanding balances through focused views and exports.

Choose the sales report that fits

General sales reporting summarizes invoice activity, while customer and item views help explain who was billed and what was sold. Use the report whose dimensions match the question and review credits, cancelled documents and statuses in the source workflow.

Review payment progress separately

Payment reporting shows recorded receipts connected to invoices, including supported partial payments. Comparing invoice totals with payment records can reveal outstanding balances without claiming that the invoice and payment happened at the same time.

Export an explainable snapshot

Apply an explicit company, period and available filters, then retain that scope with an export. An exported file will not automatically update after source data changes. Correct the invoice, customer, item or payment record before regenerating the report.

Example and limitations

A business can review sales by customer for a quarter and compare one customer’s invoices with separate payment records. Entered payments should still be verified against the relevant bank, processor or other source because the report does not independently reconcile settlement.
