Markup Calculator

Calculate selling price, profit, and equivalent margin from cost and markup. Free markup calculator with visible formulas.

What this tool can do

Calculate selling price from cost and markup. Show profit per sale. Convert markup to equivalent margin. Share and download the result.

Formula and methodology

Selling price = cost × (1 + markup ÷ 100). Profit = selling price − cost.

Worked example

A €60 cost with a 50% markup produces a €90 selling price, €30 profit, and a 33.33% margin.

Markup starts from cost

Markup measures profit against cost, while margin measures profit against selling price. The two percentages are not interchangeable.

Include the full relevant cost

Use the direct product or service cost plus any other cost that belongs in the pricing decision. Excluded fees reduce the profit you actually keep.
